The Chinese Orchestra captured the Championship for the third time in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival in 2017.

With a history of 30 years, the Chinese Orchestra aims to nuture students' interest in Chinese music as well as to let students experience the spirit of ensemble team work. With invaluable guidance and assistance from the conductor Mr YIM Kin Man, the team reaped the Gold Prizes in the Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows Chinese Orchestra competitions for nine times.


The Chinese Orchestra, at the same time, has been awarded the top three places in the intermediate class competition of Hong Kong Schools Music Festival for 10 years. In 2016, the Chinese Orchestra made their first attempt in the senior class competition of the Festival, and captured the Third Prize with 92 marks. In 2017, they were awarded the Championship for the third time in the intermediate class competition of the Festival.


They were also invited to participate in the concerts held by the Middle School Affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing as well as Xi'an. Besides, the team was invited twice to be guest orchestra in the New Year Celebration and Variety Show hosted by the Hong Kong Airport Authority, as well as National Day Evening Party held by Television Broadcasts Limited.
