Senior Mixed Voice Choir

a.k.a. SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School Choir


The Choir was awarded the Championships in the 6th World Choir Games and the 13th China International Chorus Festival.

Conducted by the school music teacher, the Senior Mixed Voice Choir was established in the 1970s and has 60 members at present. The members are all passionate and energetic, which has led to numerous successes in various competitions. Moreover, the members are very grateful to share music with the public in different performances.


The Choir has been an active participant in the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival since its establishment. It has won a considerable number of prizes in both Chinese and foreign language choral classes over the years nad has been selected as the Most Outstanding Secondary School Choir in the New Territories of the Year for over 10 times. In 2019, they were awarded the First Prize in the Oratorio class for the seventh time over the past 8 years. Since 2008, the Choir has particpated various international choral competitions and captured numerous prizes, including the Gold Medal and the Championship in the 6th World Choir Games in 2010.

2010:   World Champion and Gold Medal in the 6th World Choir Games (Shaoxing, China)
2012:   Gold Medal in the 7th World Choir Games (Cincinnati, USA)
2014:   Gold Medal in the 8th World Choir Games (Riga, Latvia)
2016:   Grand Champion in the 13th China International Chorus Festival (Beijing, China)

2018:   TWO Second Places in the International Choral Kathaumixw (Powell River, Canada)

2019:   First Class Award and Excellent Creative Performance Award in the 6th National Primary and Secondary Schools Arts Showcase (Suzhou, China)


The Choir had participated in various performances. Since 2008, the Choir has been invited as the guest choir in the Hong Kong Oratorio Society's concerts, performing well known pieces from Messiah to Elijah. The Choir also participated in choral master classes conducted by Professor Yan Liang-kun and the late Ms Barbara Fei. In 2015, the Choir participated in a project, which was organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Education, recording two Chinese poetry pieces written by local famous composers. In 2018, they performed as the guest choir in the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's community concert held at Tuen Mun Town Hall. 

Senior Boys' Choir

The Boys' Choir, which epitomizes our students' earnest striving for excellence, consists of around 30 members. Ever since its formation, our boys have been ranking in the top three positions in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.


Senior Girls' Choir

The Girls' Choir consists of around 60 members. Despite its short history, the choir has nevertheless won a number of prizes, including First Prizes in the Intermediate Girls' Choir competition in the 61st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the Senior Girls' Choir competition in the 62nd Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. In 2017, they won the championship in the Senior Girls' Choir competition again.
